Libraries are the most valuable repositories of memory, where knowledge is preserved, thought is deepened, and culture is passed down from generation to generation. These special spaces, which carry the accumulated knowledge of the past to the understanding of the present and the quest of the present to the horizon of the future, are among the most powerful havens for learning, research, and the search for meaning. Every encounter with books enriches a person a little more; every reading opens a new door in the mind; every library carries a great accumulation of civilization in its silence. In this respect, libraries are powerful centers that nourish thinking, questioning, and self-improvement, going beyond simply providing access to information. With these feelings and thoughts, I celebrate the 62nd Library Week, once again remembering the value of our libraries whose doors are open to knowledge and learning; and I hope that the bond we have with books, knowledge, and culture will grow stronger every day.
